Slashing & Brushcutting
Long grass under control. Brushcutting for blocks, verges and steep slopes.
Service Description
Time-based slashing and brushcutting to bring long grass and rough growth back under control. Ideal for vacant blocks, acreage, verges (subject to local rules), fence lines, easements, orchards and steep or uneven ground where a mower won’t cope. We prioritise the highest-risk and highest-visibility areas first and work methodically within the booked time. What we do: quick site walk to identify hazards; set an appropriate cut height (typically 50–120 mm, adjusted to terrain and vegetation); then cut using professional brushcutters with heavy-duty line, grass knives or circular blades as required. Around trees, posts and garden edges we cut carefully to avoid damage. Clippings are left in place as mulch unless you have arranged a separate green-waste haulage service. Inclusions: professional labour, commercial brushcutting equipment, fuel, line and blades, basic on-site triage to target the most important areas first. If you have specific priorities (e.g., boundary fence first, driveway verge second), advise at booking or on arrival. Not included / limits: tractor or ride-on slasher (service delivered via brushcutters); green-waste removal or carting; rubbish/rock pickup; stump removal; chainsaw tree felling; landscaping or grading; herbicide spraying; verge work restricted by council rules; compliance certificates. We do not operate on Total Fire Ban days or during dangerous conditions Safety and site prep: please disclose underground services and irrigation, mark hidden obstacles, remove loose wires, toys and debris, secure pets and keep people clear of the work zone. Park vehicles and move valuables away from the cutting line. Windows can be vulnerable on rocky ground. Results you can expect: an even, neat reduction of long grass suitable for access, presentation and fuel-load reduction. On first cuts of neglected blocks some stalks may lie flat and need a second pass or a follow-up visit as material dries and lifts. Embedded seeds, thatch and old thatch lines are normal. Regrowth is inevitable; a maintenance schedule (e.g., 3–6 weeks in growing season) keeps costs and risk down. Environmental and neighbours: brushcutting generates noise and some debris. We aim to minimise disturbance and overspray. If water runoff or sensitive areas are a concern, tell us before we start so we can adjust the approach.
